University of Lodz has been consistently increasing the number of international students. In 2018, it was ranked 5th by the Statistics Poland, while in 2019 and 2020 it came 3rd. In 2021 it was overtaken by the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań by 1 student and was off the podium. This year we have managed to make up for the loss.
Data from the Statistics Poland confirms the high position of our university among institutions educating international academic community. Our aspirations to make the University of Lodz a diverse university are bringing tangible results. Our success is a result of the joint efforts of academic teachers and the university administration staff. We are constantly improving our study offer and teaching, focusing on being a strong and active research centre and educating responsible graduates who are curious about the world. We are an inclusive institution, built on unity and diversity.
Taking third place in Poland among public universities (once again) clearly shows that we are an attractive academic centre for international candidates. University of Lodz has a rich and interesting offer, including courses taught in English. International students value our infrastructure, which has been changing for the better in recent years. The pro-student approach, which makes one’s stay in Lodz more comfortable is a very significant factor that increases our attractiveness.

She also adds that the University of Lodz encourages young people to go on various types of exchange programmes involving scholarships, which international students also take advantage of.
Students coming to the University of Lodz are also supported by mentors who introduce academic life to them. They are carefully selected senior students who have been trained by the employees of the University of Lodz International Relations Office on the most troubling questions after arriving in Poland. The most active mentors who supported students at the University of Lodz Welcome Point and virtually were invited to the Mentor certificate award ceremony.

The above-mentioned report by the Statistics Poland entitled "Szkolnictwo wyższe i jego finanse w 2022 roku" also shows that over 100,000 international students are already studying in Poland. We can be proud that we manage a large part of this group and draw from the wealth of cultural diversity. In the 2023/2024 academic year, over 1,200 international students from 76 countries have started their education at the University of Lodz!
