Dlaczego dyskryminacja jest passé? Warsztaty

Place of the event: Franciszkańska 1/5, 91-433 Łódź
When: 24 June 2024 (Monday) 18:00 - 20:00

A contextual workshop "Why discrimination is passe, i.e. about the value of diversity", led by Dr Agata Rudnicka (University of Lodz) is an event accompanying the DYWERS photography exhibition, which is included in the City Programme of Fotofestiwal. We would like to encourage you to attend the event on 24 June (Monday) at 6:00 p.m. at the Wozownia 1/5 Gallery at the Biedermann’s Palace.

The goal of the workshop is to discuss the idea of diversity. Discrimination and prejudice, phenomena that are still present in public space, will be the starting point for conversations about the importance of managing diversity. Registration for the event is required (you will find the details at the end of the news).

The participants will also be introduced to the idea of implicit bias as mechanisms that hinder the creation of a diverse and inclusive environment. The meeting will lead to an understanding the negative effects of discrimination and the benefits of creating diverse private and professional spaces.

Topics that will be discussed during the meeting include:

  • my life attitudes and approach to other people,
  • stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination,
  • hidden biases
  • how to move beyond patterns and established ways of thinking,
  • diversity management – making life better for everyone
