The "Polityka" Weekly Foundation has been running a scholarship programme for young researchers "Zostańcie z nami!" since 2001 and since 2011 under the name of Science Awards. Through the campaign conducted in the pages of "Polityka", a valuable career model and scientific achievements of young researchers in Poland are promoted. The Foundation is looking for people who have passed an important milestone in their professional life (a doctoral or postdoctoral thesis, a book, an important scientific article, completion or commencement of research, building a team, assuming an important function in a scientific institution) in the last one or two years.
You should submit your candidacy using the form available on the website (in Polish).
The winners are selected in two stages by two Chapters. The Chapter of the first stage (Professor's) consists of outstanding Professors, experts in the individual disciplines of science. They carefully select the applications and present the candidates for the final round.
The competition finalists selected by the First Stage Chapter have been subjected to the assessment of the Second Stage Chapter (Civic, also known as Social) since 2011. Members of the Second Stage Chapter include people known for their public activity and interesting, broad views on social reality. The Chapter is to select five laureates whose research it considers particularly promising not only in terms of its practical usefulness, but generally for civilisational and intellectual progress.
Thanks to the work of both Chapters, each year 15 finalists are selected from hundreds of candidates in five fields of science: Humanities, Social Sciences, Exact Sciences, Life Sciences and Technical sciences. In 2025, the five best researchers will receive Science Awards – scholarships of PLN 15,000. They will be interviewed by the "Polityka" weekly. The remaining ten will receive final prizes of PLN 5,000.
