We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dorota Golańska is among the winners of the PRELUDIUM BIS (NCN) competition.

Professor Dorota Golańska will implement a project entitled: "Podnoszenie poziomu jakości życia w warunkach okupacji: przypadek miasta Nablus (Zachodni Brzeg)" [Raising the quality of life under occupation: the case of Nablus (West Bank)].

The project is situated at the intersection of political science, political geography, urban studies and conflict studies. It focuses on the processes of production of public space in conditions of long-term occupation. Its objective is to examine how Palestinians living in the Nablus region (located in the occupied West Bank) try to improve their living conditions (wellbeing) through (bottom-up) interventions in public space. The project draws on existing research in the area of spatial justice and on the relationship between public space and the wellbeing and quality of life of societies. It is also based on current findings on urban politics and urban violence in the West Bank area.

Funding amount: PLN 650,710

We would like to offer our congratulations to Prof. Golańska!
