Ivor Norman Richard Davies is a British-Polish historian of English-Welsh origin. He is Professor Emeritus at University College London, a member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and the British Academy. He is the author of works on the history of Europe, Poland and the British Isles, Knight of the Order of the White Eagle.
The title of the lecture refers to Norman Davies' book "God's Playground" about the history of Poland. This publication is considered by many historians to be one of the best historical books about Poland written by non-Polish-speaking authors. It was first published in 1981 in two volumes, and since 1999 it has been published in one volume.

Master’s Lecture Series
Master’s Lecture Series is a series of meetings with the participation of outstanding personalities from the world of science, organised by the Archdiocese of Łódź under the patronage of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś. The second meeting as part of the series will be held on 15 May of the current year at 7:00 p.m. Professor Joseph Halevi Horowitz Weiler, who will deliver a lecture entitled "Is a non-Christian Europe possible?" will be the guest.
