The ranking is published in the form of two ranking lists. The first one takes into account a scientist's publications throughout their professional career up till the end of 2021, while the second one concerns works published in 2021. Both ranking lists include such criteria as: Hirsch Index, number of citations (self-citations included), Impact Factor and place on the list of authors.

Scopus Database is one of the available sources of research data, whose content is subject to a strict substantive evaluation. It registers such information as: full bibliographical data, abstracts, key words, cited publications (references to literature), information on citations of a given document. Indexing in the Scopus database proves the prestige of a journal or a publishing house, allows to increase visibility of research achievements and take part in international rankings.
The number of publications by scientists representing University of Lodz in the Scopus database is systematically growing. There was an increase in the following indicators between 2020 and 2021:
- Scholarly Output – the number of publications (increase by 13%),
- Field-Weighted Citation Impact – weighted average citation index (increase from 0.87 to 0.94; world average = 1),
- Output in Top 10% Citation Percentiles – the number of publications in 10% of the most highly cited publications in the world (increase by 39%),
- International Collaboration – the number of publications written as part of international cooperation (increase by 18%),
- Publications in Top 10% Journal Percentiles by CiteScore Percentile – the number of publications in 10% of the most highly cited journals in the world according to the CiteScore index (increase by 16%).
The University of Lodz publication strategy is bearing fruit – the increase in the rate of international cooperation or the total number of publications by our scientists is another step towards better results of the University as a whole. Congratulations!
