Thanks to their extraordinary, practically unlimited children's imagination, the templates with the logo of the University of Lodz were filled with drawings in all colours of the rainbow. As a result, wonderful designs of university greeting cards were created. The work of the little artists was also observed by invited journalists from the Lodz media.
As part of the "Flowers? – No, thank you" campaign, which we started on the initiative of the professors, we encourage the University of Lodz students to show their gratitude to their supervisors and thesis reviewers for the work and time spent together by giving them unique greeting cards. Scientists who receive such gifts keep them as souvenirs, often recalling their students from years ago. The cards are also bought and given at the university on other occasions.
The entire income from the sales of cards is donated to aid organisations that cooperate with the university and take care of children on a daily basis. Currently, these organisations include Słonie na Balkonie and Happy Kids foundations. Before, the cards were painted by beneficiaries of the foundations. Preschoolers from our university facility at Strajku Łódzkich Studentów 1981 r. no13 (Dormitory No 13 in Lumumbów) have taken part in the painting for the first time.
Greeting cards made of ecological paper, with space for your own text, are available to members of the University of Lodz community in the store at the University of Lodz Library (Matejki 32) and online in our online store. The price of a card is only PLN 20. Every year, the foundation's beneficiaries receive several thousand zlotys from the sale of cards as part of the "Flowers? – No, thank you!" campaign.
