Rector of the University of Lodz, Prof. Rafał Matera, introduced the members of the Rector's Board to the representatives of the Students’ Government, informing who is responsible for which area of activity at the university. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between the university authorities and the URSS, presenting the competences of individual Vice-Rectors related to student affairs.
Next, President of the University Students’ Government Council, Paweł Żaboklicki announced that Michał Dróżka, Adrian Niewiadomski and Mateusz Pieczyński had been elected to the positions of Vice-Presidents. The URSS members also presented their duties resulting from the positions they held. The Students’ Government had chosen people specialising in selected fields (URSS Experts):
- Rafał Kanas, Expert in Cooperation with Student Science Clubs,
- Zuzanna Kolbus, Expert on Students’ Social Affairs,
- Jędrzej Kozak, Expert on the Organisation of Juwenalia (student festival),
- Paulina Maj, Expert on Administrative Issues,
- Małgorzata Niedźwiedź, Expert on International Students,
- Piotr Rębowski, Expert on Equality and Combating Discrimination,
- Piotr Zubrycki, Events and Promotions Expert.
The Rector of the University of Lodz welcomed the fact that the tasks and responsibilities have been divided among the members of the University Students’ Government Council and that the first actions and initiatives are already being taken (such as the recently organised Inauguration Party, which enjoyed great popularity). The President of the URSS informed the Rector's Board about the plans for the next actions of the Students’ Government. These are: presenting the members of the URSS via social media, proposing changes and tightening the Regulations of the Students’ Government of the University of Lodz, electing the Secretary of the URSS and further actions aimed at integration with the student community.
The most important thing for me was the atmosphere of this meeting: the atmosphere of mutual respect and at the same time openness and an invitation to discussion, which is of great importance to us. We feel and express our willingness to cooperate, and the Rector's Board creates the conditions for this. I believe that such meetings are a very good step towards contributing to the development of our university together
– Paweł Żaboklicki, President of URSS said after the meeting. .
