The aim of the competition is to activate doctoral students who are members of Doctoral Students' Governments affiliated with the Doctoral Forum of Polish Universities in the field of scientific and local government activities. The competition is held in three categories:
- event organised by the doctoral students’ government
- scientific activity of a doctoral student
- government activity of a doctoral student.
By the decision of the Competition Jury, the first prize in the category of self-government activity of a doctoral student was awarded to mgr Monika Wilanowska. The award ceremony this year was held during the Report and Election Convention of the Doctoral Forum of Polish Universities on 13-15 December in Lodz.
Mgr Monika Wilanowska is a doctoral student at the University of Lodz Doctoral School of Social Sciences. She has been the Chairwoman of the University of Lodz Doctoral Students' Government Council and the 2nd Deputy of the Ombudsman for Doctoral Students Rights of the National Representation of PhD Candidates since January 2023. She has been actively working for doctoral students at the University of Lodz for several years.
In the academic year 2023/2024, she supervised and actively participated in the organisation of many events and initiatives of the University of Lodz Doctoral Students' Government Council and conducted many training sessions for doctoral students.
She has also supported the activities of the National Representation of PhD Candidates )in Polish: KRD) in the legal and project areas. As the 2nd Deputy of the Ombudsman for Doctoral Students Rights of the KRD, she has drafted several dozen opinions and legal information. In addition, she has coordinated the project "Szkoły Doktorskie to nasza przyszłość – popularyzacja wiedzy o systemie kształcenia doktorantów", acted as legal coordinator in the project "Pełnoprawni w Nauce" and as content coordinator in the project "Lokalny Ambasador Praw Doktoranta 3.0".
