Scandinavian serenity
A year ago, in January 2020 Rossmann signed with the University of Lodz a partnership cooperation agreement pertaining to didactic as well as scientific and research activities. As part of the agreement, a well known throughout Europe company, an owner of a drugstore chain, undertook to finance the design and arrangement of a utility area for students and other visitors of the University of Lodz Library.
Huge windows, and resulting from it very good, natural lighting constitute a great advantage of this almost 200-metre space. In such a bright, friendly place you just feel like spending your time listening to interesting people, working on your laptop or simply playing board games with friends.
- Rossmann has been cooperating with the University of Lodz for years, as part of Młodzi w Łodzi Internship Programme. Due to good experiences on both sides at the beginning of the last year we signed a cooperation agreement with the University. We have concluded that combining strengths of one of the best Universities in Poland with one of the best companies must bring mutual benefits - underlines Marek Maruszak, Chairman of Rossmann Board.
- The whole community of the University of Lodz would like to come back to the University buildings as soon as possible. I am happy that returning to normal academic life, to the University of Lodz Library will be even more joyful, and it is thanks to this place - sums up Elżbieta Żądzińska, UL Rector.
IDI Studio company has decided to go for a warm, Scandinavian design. Bright wood and white are the dominant accents. Such colours combined with a large number of lamps and green elements, such as a wall with moss as well as plants in the pots make it easier to concentrate, silence one's body and mind after a hard day of learning.

Zones in the Zone
In a natural way, by the use of furniture and equipment we have managed to obtain several, individual places in the Rossmann Co-working Zone - each with a different purpose.
Lecture zone is one of them. It is equipped with a screen, projector and comfy chairs. It is a perfect place to meet interesting people and take part in inspiring lectures and trainings. The zone will be used by both, the UL students as well as employees of Rossmann from all over the country. "Free your mind" slogan placed on a moss-covered, stunningly green wall, encourages intellectual gymnastics, going beyond the established schemes and following new paths.
In yet another part of the Zone you can simply study at one of the tables - if there is such a need - you can isolate yourself even more in cubicles separated by walls. Each such a cubicle is equipped with a mini-desk for a laptop. You can also work in several, giving the feeling of more privacy, wooden "houses". It is a perfect place to work in small teams.
Full relaxation!
In the Rossmann Zone you can also simply take a rest and stop studying for a few moments. In the relaxation zone, an enormous map of Lodz stands out. There are bigger tables so that you can chat or play board games in bigger groups. Soft pouffes and seats on which you can take a breath after a class are placed all around. And if you feel hungry - it is also not a problem. You can eat there - two vending machines with snacks and drinks will be available.
