See what else will happen during the summer holiday.

TME Polówka x UniLodz

The 17th edition of the TME Polówka Summer Film Festival, the largest film event in Lodz, is currently underway. In the garden of the Biedermann’s Palace you can see screenings included in the DYWERS section, the aim of which is to increase awareness of social diversity, as well as excellent entertainment.

Just before the screenings, from 7:30 p.m. we encourage you to take part in an author's guided tour of the DYWERS photography exhibition in the Wozownia 1/5 Gallery, located directly next to the Biedermann’s Palace. There are the last two screenings as part of the DYWERS section left:

Summer Jazz Academy at Wytwórnia Club

This year's Summer Jazz Academy is in full swing and will accompany jazz lovers until 29 August. Legends of Polish and world jazz, well-known and respected musicians of this genre and novices who are just starting their jazz adventure will appear on the stage of the Wytwórnia Club. The Wodecki Twist project under the musical direction of Tomasz Szymuś will perform on Thursday, 8 August. Other well-known and respected Polish artists that will perform include: Anna Maria Jopek, Ania Rusowicz, Alicja Majewska, Wiktor Dyduła and Wiktor Waligóra. They will perform Zbigniew Wodecki's pieces in specially prepared arrangements. The final concert of the 17th Summer Jazz Academy – Polish Radio Jazz Studio will take place on 29 August. A 20-person orchestra will recall the legendary band founded by Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski in 1968. Season tickets for the Summer Jazz Academy, as well as tickets at a special price for single concerts, are waiting for you in the Kultura UniLodz portal.

Film Discussion Club Człowiek w Zagrożeniu [Man in Danger]: Potop. Postscript

Film Discussion Club Człowiek w Zagrożeniu operating at the Film Museum in Lodz, has prepared a special event on the occasion of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the premiere of "Potop". This superproduction directed by Jerzy Hoffman was watched in cinemas by 27.5 million viewers, which is the third result in the history of Polish cinematography. In 1975 it received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film. The documentary "Potop. Postscriptum" tells the story of the creation of the adaptation of Andrzej Kmicic's adventures. After the screening, a conversation with the director Łukasz Czajka is planned. Tickets will be prepared for the University of Lodz community at the price of PLN 15 (regular price: PLN 25). Details will be available soon on the Kultura UniLodz website.

People in Tune – African rhythms at the Wytwórnia Club 

On Sunday, 8 September, the Wytwórnia Club will host the one-day People in Tune festival. This is the second edition of the festival, which this time will be held under the slogan "African Vibes". The main theme is the African continent. Concerts of music from that part of the world will be accompanied by drum workshops, meetings with travellers, film screenings and African cuisine tasting. Specially for the community of the University of Lodz, discounts on tickets for workshops and concerts have been prepared:

  • tickets for Mookomba and The Afronauts concerts for the University of Lodz community members at the price of PLN 80 (price without discounts: PLN 100)
  • tickets for workshops at the price of PLN 25 (price without discounts: PLN 35)

To take advantage of the proposed discounts, simply log in to the Kultura UniLodz portal, select the event of your interest in the calendar and book tickets at a lower price. A message with details and confirmation of the reservation will be sent to the university email address. The confirmation of the reservation received should be presented at the stationary box office of the cinema, theatre or club. On its basis you can buy discounted tickets.
