Student, doctoral student, student of non-degree postgraduate studies – are you starting studies at the University of Lodz?
If you are starting studies at the University of Lodz, then an account has been created for you in the @edu.uni.lodz.pl domain.
We will send an e-mail containing instructions how to activate an account in the @edu.uni.lodz.pl domain to your private e-mail address (the one you had provided during recruitment in the electronic recruitment system). If you have not received the e-mail yet, do not worry, it will reach you for sure!
The student @edu.uni.lodz.pl account is simultaneously a student’s login to the UL systems and the student mail. From now on all the e-mails pertaining to your studies will be sent to the student's e-mail (not the private one).
This is what the UL student account offers:
- ability to use the extended Microsoft Office 365 Professional Plus package, which can be installed on up to 15 private devices (5 computers, 5 tablets and 5 phones)! (Notice! These proportions cannot be changed e.g., 6 computers and 4 tablets etc.)
- OneDrive space
What do you need to do to move to the new account? Well...actually nothing – it is enough to start using it!
We will inform you via e-mail about creating an account in the new domain – this message will be sent (exceptionally) to your private e-mail address. ONLY messages related to administration of your student mail are sent to your private e-mail address – the remaining communication will be taking place SOLELY via the @edu.uni.lodz.pl account. Therefore, you need to activate it so that you do not miss any key messages sent by the dean’s office, lecturers or the University authorities. If you do not activate your student account you will not receive the Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus package.
What will it look like from the technical side?
New accounts are created automatically. The login consists of the letters ‘UL’ and seven digits, which your USOS ID includes (example: UL0234654). We will send it to you in the message informing about creating the account (whenever you forget it, you will be able to retrieve it via the ‘remind the login’ option). You create the password yourself. Reminding the login and changing the password options are available on the logowanie.uni.lodz.pl website.
What is USOS ID? It is your individual Identifier that you receive when you are first accepted for the studies.
Along with the login, your new e-mail address is created in the @edu.uni.lodz.pl domain. The whole address will look as follows: UL0234654@edu.uni.lodz.pl. However, in order not to use letters and digits that do not mean much, the so-called ‘alias’ will be automatically generated for you, i.e., an easier e-mail address. This address will be based on your name and surname (separated with full stops). Thank to this recipients, instead of receiving an e-mail from UL0234654@edu.uni.lodz.pl, will receive an e-mail from anna.nowak@edu.uni.lodz.pl. Much better, isn’t it?!
Remember – your login is: UL0234654@edu.uni.lodz.pl
It is a login to the UL systems and MS Office 365 mail.
Having activated the account, remember to log into the Office 365 using the new domain, especially into the Microsoft teams application. This will make it possible for you to participate actively in the online classes. We also encourage you to install the Microsoft Office 365 Professional Plus package on your devices (yes, private ones too).
The new login will help you log into:
- the Microsoft Teams (online classes run by the lecturers)
- Office 365 Professional Plus (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- the USOSweb (grades, enrolment for classes)
- the mUSOS mobile app (timetables, graedes, etc,); it is available in App Store and Google Play
- the Eduroam network (free wi-fi on the premises of UL and other universities and institutions all over the world that use this network!)
- the Moodle platform (e-learning courses and tasks from the lecturers)
- the Archives of Diploma Theses
ATTENTION! Please remember that e-mails from the lecturers, the dean’s office and from the University authorities will be sent ONLY to the account in the @edu.uni.lodz.pl domain. Use only this e-mail when sending messages to the dean’s office, lecturers or UL authorities.
Creating accounts for the newly admitted students is in progress. If you have not received the e-mail yet, do not worry, it will reach you for sure! However, if you are worried about something, contact your Faculty dean's office to verify if your account has already been set up in USOS and if you have the correct e-mail address provided during recruitment.
