A research team from the Department of Human Resources Management, Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, took part in a research internship at Cork University Business School (CUBS), University College Cork (UCC), Ireland on 2-6 December 2024. The Department hosting our researchers was the Department of Management and Marketing. University College Cork is one of the academic institutions in Ireland known for its academic excellence, cultural heritage and commitment to sustainable development. UCC was founded in 1845 and is a part of the National University of Ireland (NUI) group of Irish universities.

As part of the research internship, the team consisting of Dr Izabela Różańska-Bińczyk, Dr Paweł Łuczak, dr hab. Katarzyna Wojtaszczyk, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz, Dr Patrycja Mizera-Pęczek and Dr Marzena Syper-Jędrzejak held meetings with the Dean of the Cork University Business School and employees of the Department of Management and Marketing. The researchers also discussed theoretical assumptions and presented research results related to the implemented project entitled "Research on generation Alpha expectations towards employers (Poland): Previous research results and current research project" at a scientific seminar organised by the host department.
The internship participants also took part in a meeting with a representative of the Office of Sustainability and Climate Action, during which the research, teaching and operational activities of University College Cork were presented as a leading Irish university committed to building a sustainable future. UCC is a leader in the field of sustainable development, winner of the title of "Sustainability University of the Year 2023" and its campus was the first in the world to receive the Green Flag for environmental friendliness. The university integrates sustainable development in its research, teaching and activities, preparing students to effectively face global challenges. The research team from Poland also attended a meeting with editors and reviewers of prestigious international scientific journals. The internship allowed for the integration of employees from the University of Lodz and University College Cork, the exchange of research and teaching experiences and the discussion of the challenges related to the implementation of international scientific projects. The meetings and conversations contributed to mutual understanding and building relationships, which was facilitated by the openness, kindness and hospitality of the Irish team. In addition, employees from Poland learned about the nature of work at Irish universities, visited the campus, which is famous for harmonising tradition with modernity – historic buildings are surrounded by modern laboratories and research centres. They also had the opportunity to get to know Cork – a city rich in history, full of culture and unique charm, which reflects the true spirit of Ireland.
