The title of Professor Jarniewicz's collection of poetry, which has just been nominated for the Nike Award, refers to the Italian film "Mondo cane" from 1962, which initiated the trend of shocking documentary films of the "mondo" trend, showing real death on the screen. The works in the collection also refer directly to the dog-eat-dog world – the world full of wars, cruelty and death that surrounds us. As Gazeta Wyborczas stated: "Jarniewicz's poems can be ironic, serious, intimate and committed. An unobvious, beautiful volume of poetry'.
