Jak wpływać na rozwój swojej społeczności? – międzynarodowe warsztaty w Niemczech

Students and an employee of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology took part in a study trip to Bochum in Germany. The several-day workshops were also attended by students from Germany and Great Britain and their lecturers.

The workshops included meetings with local groups running community gardens, a tour of Bochum in the footsteps of influential women who have changed the city, a visit to the town hall and conversations with local politicians as well as a meeting with members of a non-governmental organisation that checks how politicians fulfil their election promises after winning the elections. The programme also included a visit to a closed coal mine, which serves as a museum and educational centre about the history and culture of the Ruhr area.

The trip was attended by Hanna Ćwiklińska, Aleksandra Drążczyk, Agata Zadrożna – second- and third-cycle Sociology students and members of Social Force Student Science Club, and Dr Paulina Bunio-Mroczek from the Department of Applied Sociology and Social Work.

Previous International Social Work Workshops with the participation of students from Poland, Germany and the UK were held in Wolfenbüttel in September 2022, in Lodz in March 2023 and again in Lodz in March 2024.
