Webinars on inclusive language, a forum on sustainability, resilience and well-being at University Collage Cork in Ireland as well as recruitment for the Summer School at the University of Zagreb – these are the upcoming events addressed to the University of Lodz community, both students and staff, organised within the UNIC Alliance. Registration for the events will start soon.

University of Lodz has been a member of the European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC) Alliance since 2022. This Alliance of European Universities concerns the challenges faced by post-industrial cities, the role of universities in their transformation and building the potential of cities in key areas, such as:

  • inclusion
  • superdiversity
  • sustainability. 

In the near future, the UNIC Alliance is hosting events addressed to all people studying and working at our university.


UNIC Lightning Bites: Cultivating Inclusive Societies

On the occasion of the upcoming International Mother Language Day (IMLD), we encourage you to attend a series of short talks organised on 19-24 February 2024 under the slogan ‘UNIC Lightning Bites: Cultivating Inclusive Societies’. During the meetings, participants will discuss how multilingualism can contribute to social inclusion and the implementation of sustainable development goals.

  • Euskera, a minority language in a globalized world (20 February 2024)

46th Annual EAIR Forum 2024 on the theme of Sustainability, Resilience and Wellbeing

University Collage Cork (Ireland) will host the  46th Annual EAIR Forum 2024 on the theme of Sustainability, Resilience and Wellbeing, which will take place on 21-23 August 2024.

EAIR – The European Higher Education Society, is a unique international association for higher education researchers, practitioners, students, managers and policy-makers. Its mission is to support research and development in higher education research, policy and practice, to the general benefit of higher education. We encourage researchers of the University of Lodz to submit their applications and participate in the event. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to 19 February this year.

Zagreb Summer School

The Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb is organising a Summer School on 1-12 July 2024. The course is addressed to students of law, political sciences and environmental sciences interested in climate change regulation. The cost of the summer school 2024 is EUR 600 (a discount of EUR 100 for students from the universities being members of the UNIC Alliance). Applications can be submitted until 31 March 2024 via the form.

In order to enrol, please submit the following documents:

  • CV
  • Motivation letter (up to 1000 words)
  • Proof of academic background (a statement/certificate issued by your university confirming that you have obtained 60 ECTS credits)
  • Proof of language proficiency (at least B2 level of English)
