Embracing Transience – "Deadline" Exhibition by Tomasz Ferenc
The University of Lodz is organising a unique event in November, namely, "Deadline" Exhibition by dr hab. Tomasz Ferenc from the Department of Sociology of Art., University of Lodz. It combines elements of photographic documentation and reflection on the iconography of death in European culture. We would like to invite you to take part in the opening of the exhibition combined with a meeting with its creator, as well as with the coordinator of the accompanying events programme – Dr Łucja Lange on 14 November of the current year at 6:00 p.m. at the university's Wozownia 1/5 Gallery (ul. Franciszkańska 1/5, next to the Biedermann’s Palace).

Grzegorz Turnau Concert in Wytwórnia – 8 November
Grzegorz Turnau together with his band and special guests are returning to the best concert halls in Poland! On the XL Tour, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his debut, the artist will present material from his new album and selected songs from his dozen or so albums to date. We invite you to attend a spectacular evening full of memories and surprises, which will be held on Friday 8 November at 8:00 PM at Wytwórnia. Tickets at special prices for the University of Lodz community are available in the calendar on the Kultura UniLodz website.
Możdżer / Danielsson / Fresco Beamo Trio – 20 November at Wytwórnia
The news that the trio: Możdżer, Danielsson, Fresco is returning with a new album, "Beamo," electrified fans. The new album contains everything that has worked so well so far and for which the audience loves this band: space, beautiful melodies, noble restraint. The trio has opened a completely new chapter with this recording, because they have presented completely new, revolutionary content in a gentle and accessible way. This album delights, surprises, puzzles and opens up a completely new sound space. The whole thing sounds mysterious and intriguing, but at the same time very familiar.
Leszek Możdżer’s website reads:
"They seem to have created a regular jazz trio – grand piano, double bass and percussion. But this is Możdżer’s project so nothing is obvious. Apart from the grand piano Możdżer also plays the electronic keyboards and celesta. Danielsson swaps the double bass and the cello, Fresco puts a spell on us with his percussions. On one hand this is demanding music that requires some kind of preparation, focusing, sometimes even erudition, but not to exaggerate – a spare hour will do. And the rest lies in the hands of the musicians."

Film afternoons at Charlie Cinema
Cinema goers who do not like the atmosphere of multi-screen multiplexes and prefer non-mainstream repertoire can take advantage of the offers of the legendary arthouse Charlie Cinema, located at Piotrkowska 203/205 in Lodz.
- Tickets with a discount for the University of Lodz can be booked via our system until 11:59 p.m. on the day before the screening, and the reservation can be made at the cinema box office just before the screening.
- Charlie Cinema has also prepared something special for first-year students at the University of Lodz! People who are starting their educational journey at our university this academic year can download their "Charlie Cinema Index" at the Charlie Cinema box office. It is activated for only PLN 30 upon presentation of your University of Lodz student ID card. From that moment on, you can watch as many as 30 films for 30 days! Familiarise yourself with the rules of using the "Charlie Cinema Index" (in Polish).
UniLodz Culture
kultura.uni.lodz.pl website has been created to share cultural offers from Lodz and the region with every person from our university. Thanks to the cooperation with theatres, music clubs, cinemas and festivals, students and workers at UŁ have access to special ticket prices.
How to start using it?
- Log in via the Central Logging System – the same way you log into USOS (students) or Employee Service (employees).
- Select the event you are interested in and book the tickets for you and your friends.
- Check your mailbox – you will get an e-mail with details of the offer and confirmation of your reservation.
- Go to the box office of a given theatre, cinema or club. Show the e-mail and buy tickets at a discount. Remember, the offers are valid for a limited time!
- Enjoy the performance, film or concert.
