Half an hour is also scheduled for questions. The link to the meeting can be found on the Lodz Cyber Hub website.
On 28 April we will talk about current proposals of the European Commission concerning electronic media and platforms legislation, and the role that Internet service providers play in the fight against disinformation. Elena Plexida, Vice President of ICANN for cooperation with international organisations, including the European Union, and Nora Mari, working in the team with Elena, will be our guests. During the meeting, we would like to continue the discussion started in March on the role played by non-governmental entities in protection of the interests of Internet users, also against disinformation.
ICANN is a global, non-profit organisation responsible for the operation of domains and DNS servers around the world (the so-called backbone network), as well as creating and managing the system of IP numbers assigned to each device with Internet access. The entire global Internet functions thanks to ICANN. Adam Peak already visited the University several times in the past year, and returns in April with online events.
