Radosław Stępień is a graduate of the University of Lodz, majoring in computer science and econometrics. He completed an Executive MBA at the University of Warsaw and postgraduate studies in actuarial science at the Higher School of Insurance and Banking. He also completed studies for investment advisor, securities analyst and financial director at the Leon Koźmiński Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management,.
He gained his professional experience at the Pension Fund Supervisory Office and the Ministry of Finance, being responsible for IT issues and strategic analysis. He co-founded and ultimately managed the work of the Financial Information Department. From 2006 to 2010, he held managerial positions at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, and was responsible for infrastructure, application development and maintenance. He also served as the bank's director of the IT department. He then headed the demographic research department at the Central Statistical Office, where he was responsible for the 2011 census as the head of the census group, to move to PKO BP where he managed projects in the restructuring and recovery areas.
Another challenge was to lead the work of the IT and court records department at the Ministry of Justice. At the Social Insurance Office, as a board member, he was responsible for the areas of IT, customer service and cyber security. During this time, he also held the social function of advisor to the coordinator of special services in the area of cyber security.
Radosław Stępień is also experienced in international consultancy. As an expert of the Council of Europe, he participated in the implementation of significant projects of this organisation, e.g. in the field of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing. He was also a Vice President of the IT working group at the Egmont Group, an international organisation.
He currently leads the area responsible for application development based on agile methodology at Gaz-System.
In his free time, he enjoys running (marathon runner, winner of the crown of Polish marathons), mountain climbing, trekking, road cycling, motocross, cross-country and downhill skiing. He is also a fan of gliding.
