In 2003, he graduated from the University of Lodz with a master's degree (Sociology). He held a research fellowship at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. He also completed postgraduate studies in Cultural Management in Perspective of Integration with the European Union at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.
From 205 to 2017 he was director of the Lodz Art Center in Lodz. Furthermore, he serves as the director of the International Festival of Photography in Lodz, which is one of the largest photography events in Europe, and he is also the founder of the Photo Festival Union (Union of European Photo Festivals), an association comprising 30 festivals from across Europe.
On 9 February 2008, he won the title of Lodz Citizen of the Year 2007, becoming the youngest recipient of this award. In September 2011, as one of three Poles - along with the coordinator of the market development department, IBM's EU team Jacek Legiewicz and Civic Platform MP Joanna Mucha – he was invited to participate in the next edition of the Young European Leaders Program 2011-2012 - "40 under 40".
He was also artistic director of the Hamburg Triennale of Photography from 2014 to 2019. He is an active member of the Cohabitat social movement – a network of individuals, organisations, businesses and institutions. The organisation focuses on open source collaboration, architecture, natural technologies and permaculture.
