dr Jarosław Neneman

Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance

Born in 1963 in Łódź, studied at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Łódź (1982-1989), obtaining specialisations in marketing (1987) and foreign trade (1989). In 1991-1992, during postgraduate studies in economics at the Central European University in Prague, he also obtained an MA in Economics at the New York University. In 1997, he received a PhD in Economics from the University of Lodz for his thesis on the redistributive consequences of the introduction of VAT in Poland. He worked at the University of Lodz as an assistant, then as an assistant professor at the Institute of Economics of the University of Lodz.

Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz and at Lazarski University in Warsaw. In 2004-2005, 2006 and 2014-2015 Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Finance responsible for tax policy and legislation. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as a social advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland on self-government issues; since 2011, he has been a President of the Council of the Foundation Centre for Tax Documentation and Studies in Łódź.
