Jarosław Bauc obtained his doctoral degree in 1991 at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. He also graduated from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada (Master of Arts in Economics). In 1996, he worked as an Advisor to the Minister of Finance of Mongolia, co-creating the reform of the Mongolian tax system. In 1997, Dr Bauc served as Advisor to Fundacia Prodemocracia at the Ministry of Finance in Romania and as the USAID Advisor to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Between 1998 and 2000, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Bank PKO BP S.A. holding the position of Supervisory Board President.
He held the position of Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance and First Deputy Minister of Finance, and served as Minister of Finance. He was also a representative of the Council of Ministers on the Monetary Policy Council at the National Bank of Poland. What is more, he held the function of Management Board President of the Powszechne Towarzystwo Emerytalne "Skarbiec-Emerytura" and was a member of the supervisory boards of: Mostostal Gdańsk S.A., Tras Tychy S.A., Netia S.A. President of the Supervisory Board of BRE Skarbiec Investments and BRE Agent Transferowy sp. z o.o.. He held the positions of President of the Management Board of Skarbiec Investment Management S.A., Skarbiec Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A. and Skarbiec Asset Management Holding S.A. Twice held the position of President of the Management Board of Polkomtel S.A. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Management Board of Polkomtel S.A. Then, Vice- President of the Supervisory Board of BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. and President of the Supervisory Board of Łódzka Spółka Infrastrukturalna sp. z o.o.
In August 2013, Jarosław Bauc was appointed Vice President of the Management Board of the stock exchange listed company HAWE S.A. He has been a member of the Economic Council of Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz since 2009, and a member of the Team of Social Advisors to the Mayor of Łódź since 2011. He assumed the position of Vice President of the Management Board of PGNiG S.A. in 2013. In September 2014, he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of BGŻ BNP Paribas. From 2015 to December 2020, he served as Vice President of the Supervisory Board of BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A.
