Modern international regulations – such as:
- Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP),
- Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS),
- EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),
- EU NIS2 Directive on a high common level of cybersecurity in the EU,
- EU AI Act,
- EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
– all aim to address emerging threats to intellectual property protection in the global digital space. However, questions increasingly arise regarding the effectiveness of these instruments in the era of artificial intelligence, cross-border infringements, and the ongoing struggle to balance privacy with the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
🔍 Topics will include:
- International protection of trademarks and copyrights in cyberspace (UDRP and URS procedures)
- Cross-border tensions between data protection and IP enforcement
- Whether AI serves as a tool to counter infringements or introduces new threats
- The potential for algorithms to support dispute resolution in IP conflicts online
