BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Małgorzata Myk (dr hab.) works at the Department of North American Literature and Culture, Lodz University. In the years 2005-2008 she studied American literature at the Department of English, University of Maine at Orono (USA). She also worked for the National Poetry Foundation (USA), where she was involved in the editorial process of the scholarly journal Paideuma: Studies in American and British Modernism.


Books:

Author of the first monograph on the oeuvre of American author Leslie Scalapino Upping the Ante of the Real: Speculative Poetics of Leslie Scalapino (2019, 1st-degree Award of the Rector of Lodz University).


Edited volumes:

She co-edited the volume Theory That Matters: What Practice After Theory (2013), a special issue of the Polish Journal for American Studies 11 (2017) on technical innovation in North American poetry (both publications co-edited with Professor Kacper Bartczak (UŁ)) and a special issue of the journal Text Matters "Literary and Visual Extremities" (13/2023; co-edited with Mark Tardi, M.F.A.).


Scholarships/Awards:

(forthcoming) Recipient of the Fulbright Senior Award in the academic year 2024/2025 (University of Utah) (At the invitation of Professor Craig Dworkin, Department of English).

Recipient of the Kosciuszko Foundation Fellowship in the academic year 2017/2018 (UCSD) (At the invitation of Professor Michael Davidson, UCSD, Department of Literature, Professor Emeritus of American Literature, Distinguished Professor).
