POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Geographical Sciences acts as a liaison between students and the university administration, assisting in both resolving current issues and supporting their academic and personal development.

The main duties include:

Oversight of the educational process:

  • Coordinating the organization of studies, including schedules for classes, exams, and assessments.
  • Ensuring the smooth conduct of examination sessions.

Student support:

  • Assisting in resolving individual student issues related to the study process (e.g., difficulties with course completion, change of study programs, academic leaves).
  • Responding to requests for program transfers, approval of various forms of individualized study paths, etc.
  • Providing consultations regarding social and scholarship matters.

Disciplinary matters:

  • Addressing student complaints and grievances, as well as appeals regarding academic decisions.

Communication between students and the university administration:

  • Maintaining regular contact with student representatives and student organizations.
  • Presenting student concerns and proposals during meetings with the university administration.

Organization of student events:

  • Supporting the organization of cultural, academic, sports, and integrative events at the university.
  • Initiating activities that promote the development of academic clubs, student organizations, and other forms of academic engagement.

  • I teach courses in geography, geomonitoring, geoinformation, tourism and recreation, as well as environmental protection.
  • My scientific research focuses on glacial geomorphology, sedimentology, and Quaternary geology.
  • Currently, I am conducting research on the morphological and sedimentological characteristics of eskers in Poland and around the world, and I am documenting evidence of ancient glacial floods in the old glaciated areas of Poland.
  • I lead the research project titled "What are the causes of the morphological and sedimentological diversity of eskers? Research based on examples from Poland and Finland."
  • I serve as the secretary of the Polish Geomorphological Association.
  • I hold the position of vice president in the INQUA Peribaltic Working Group.
