POSITION DESCRIPTION

I teach seminars and lectures in translation and interpreting theory. I supervise master dissertations and tutor PhD candidates. My research is chiefly in audiovisual translation theory.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Łukasz Bogucki is a graduate of English Philology (1993). He defended his doctorate in translation studies in 1997, and his habilitation in 2005. In 2014, he received the academic title of professor of humanities. Łukasz Bogucki has extensive scientific achievements in the field of the theory of audiovisual and computer-assisted translation. Prof. Bogucki is the founder of the Polish research group Intermedia; he is also co-editor of the scientific series Łódź Studies in Language (Peter Lang). For years he collaborated in the creation of the Journal of Specialized Translation.

INTERESTS

His academic interests include the theory of audiovisual translation, translation studies as an academic discipline, interpreting, specialised and computer-assisted translation, as well as localisation.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Over 30 research internships and study visits at universities in Great Britain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Turkey, Portugal, Sweden, Lithuania and Switzerland. Participant of the CETRA Summer Research Seminar for Translation, Communication and Cultures, Leuven, 1995.

Awards of the Rector of the University of Lodz and WSSM for scientific achievements (2007, 2010, 2016, 2020).

Golden Badge of the University of Lodz (2018).
