INTERESTS
Professionally: biographical sociology, poverty and social exclusion, helping institutions, helping professions and social innovation, especially the area of child care - especially in the context of life stories and histories. In last years I have been working on the phenomenon of compassion, following i.a. the humanitarian crisis on Polish Belarusian border. My interests in practical psychology and helping professions are reflected in a trainer's school completed in the 1990s and certificates in psycho-prevention and sociotherapy (1997) and addiction prevention (1994).
Civil society is a huge value for me, which is reflected in my participation in non-governmental organisations, both professional (such as the Polish Sociological Society and the European Sociological Association) and non-professional ones. I am a member of the Board of Directors of NYATRI - the Foundation for Assistance to Children of Tibet and the Himalayas, as well as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Religious Union Ligmincha Poland.
